Thirlmere Zip Wire Consultation Ends Today

Friday marks the deadline for any submissions sharing opinions on proposed zip wires across Thirlmere.

Local company Tree Top Treks want to develop what they're calling the ‘Thirlmere Activity Hub’- they say there's a demand for attractions like this in the area.

It would also feature an 18km family friendly cycleway.

Despite claims that it will boost tourism, charity, Friends of The Lake District, have described it as a "wholly inappropriate development."

It's got its supporters though, including Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, who say the economic benefits would be "substantial."

Details of the planning application can be viewed by clicking here.

Businesses and individuals can comment by emailing thirlmereactivity@lakedistrict.gov.uk
