The ceremonial start of the Grizedale Stages Rally is taking place this morning at the Lakeland Motor Museum in Backbarrow.
This year is the 30th anniversary of the rally.
The event gets underway at the Museum before competitors head for the twists and turns of the Grizedale Forest.
Around 80 cars are expected to take part. The rally starts from 9am.
The Lakeland Motor Museum's newest recruit, Chris Williams, will be participating in the event for the ninth time. Duty Manager Chris came second overall in both 2013 and 2014.
Chris said: "I grew up with the Grizeland Stages Rally and it's one of the highlights of my year.
"It's fantastic to be bringing this spectacular event to the Lakeland Motor Museum, and adding a different dimension to the attraction's collection of cars and motorcycles from the last century.
"For visitors, it's a great introduction to the world of motorsport, as well as the chance to step inside the Museum and see an array of classic and vintage vehicles."
