Welcome to the Lakeland Radio Big Read

Cumbria Libraries, Lakeland Radio & Sedbergh Book Town  have teamed up to bring you The Lakeland Radio Big Read – quite possibly South Lakeland’s, if not Cumbria’s, largest book club!

If you love reading, then why not become a Lakeland Radio Big Reader and join Yakkers At Breakfast every morning on the South Lakes' most listened to radio station.

 If you want to read along, all our Big Reads will be freely available from libraries throughout Cumbria.

But that’s not just all that makes Lakeland Radio’s Big Read SOOOOO BIG.   

Join Yakkers at the start of each month as he chats to some great guests, including the Big Read authors discussing their work and the characters and themes you can expect to discover in each month's book as it unfolds.  

PLUS, they’ll be book reviews from the team at Cumbria Libraries – and you too can get involved – not only can you email us your comments, but you could even join or set up your very own Big Reader Book Club!  

Any reading group which would like to join in with the Lakeland Radio Big Read can do so by contacting Janet Bousie on 01228 227316 and requesting the month’s title in the usual way. It’s also worth remembering that Cumbria has its very own Book Town, Sedbergh has lots of book shops for browsing and buying. Why not explore Sedbergh for the afternoon and stop for tea at one of its cosy cafes when your book bag gets too heavy.
